Ours are ok but could be a lot better are the mutterings amongst the members.

How's your course greens doing this year so far?

Not bad for this time of year I would say. Considering they took a battering over the winter weather wise and we never went onto Temp greens, they're in great condition. It's still only just April. I expect them to be improved over the next few weeks.

perect, well almost, they have been treating them and watering them loads over the last 3 weeks, this sunday they were too long but conditions wise their very good.

Much the same as yours to be honest, Losttheplot.

Problem with tree-lined courses is the lack of sun on greens. I'd say only half of ours are satisfactory, and only two are great.

That said, maybe I'm expecting too much.

Oddsocks, don't let that put you off though, mate. ;o)

Are greens and fairways have had a tough time of it! The lack of rain recently has caused them not to recover as quick as they should of done :( are club has had to ask for an extension on the winter rules/preffered lies change at the start of the month to sped recovery :(

Our aren't too bad for the time of year to be honest. They were absolutely superb a couple of weeks back but the pre season hollow tining, sanding etc has taken them back a bit. Now very slow and somewhat on the lumpy side. Not worried though as we have a great set of greenkeepers so once the season gets going in ernest, and the weather warms a little bit they'll be superb.

UP1.

I sadly do not know!

And wont for another 16 days minimim! Booooooooooo!

After tining, sanding, fertilising, watering, ironing, and the summer grass now growing through - they are already scarily quick. With some of the recent pin positions, if you are above the hole, expect to putt off the green.

Recently aerated so a bit bobbly in places. Also with very little rain recently they have been getting very fast. In contrast, the tees are disgusting - weed infested, uneven and still loads of bare patches in them from last year's hammering.

Lots of fusarium on ours but it is improving rapidly. We even have a local rule in place so we can move the ball if it is sat in a patch of fusarium on the green. Our greens are usually very good and I'm sure ours will return to their normal condition before long.

This time of year is bad for our greens as all the grasses wake up and grow at different rates. Spoke to our greenkeeper today and he thinks we are about 2 or 3 weeks ahead of last year as it has been wet & warm for the last week or so.

We're about 2 weeks away from consistent rolling greens according to him.
