How to send a picture in a message

I am trying to send a picture to a member via a message, not in a post or thread. Any ideas how to do this? When I click insert picture it wants a web address whereas my picture is saved on my computer

Try this
Dont click on insert image
Just drag and drop the picture into the message box

Thanks Bob, that did work and it didn't. It allowed me to drop the picture into the message but it kept saying that the message was too long. I re-sized it repeatedly but have given up now.
