I hope Gil has been around long enough to know that I have probably one of the worst swings of all the forumers, so any criticism is made in jest, and the understanding that it just gets a bit boring only picking on Smiffy, so I try to spread the love.
PS most of the smileys I wanted to use are a little too naughty for a public forum.
Like many ladies never had much problem with the 'where' - down the middle, obviously - until recently when things started flying off to the right. 3 roll-up lessons w. different pros went like this
First pro - not hitting through the ball ie lack of weight transfer (?) and follow through
Second pro - poor follow through caused by back swing going too much behind
Third pro - poor backswing caused by fault in set-up.
TBH I think no 3 got it right - changing set-up has helped a lot - feel I am striking better and hitting longer, but have to a) commit fully to the shot and complte the swing b) avoid the temptation to 'welly' it, at which point I think the timing goes and I'm off in the trees again.
Putting now better.
Bunkers problematic but am sticking to something I saw on a video for problem shots - 'change the set-up not the swing'- I'm sure there are times when you need to change the swing, but for now it means that I at least commit to the shot and am getting out after a fashion.
Starting to play to my handicap or thereabouts.
