2007 was our Centenary year. There were a lot of special events that year culminating in a Centenary Dinner held at a function suite at Murrayfield. A grand night that was... I think.
We had a team do a lot of research and a commemorative history of the club was published as part of the Centenary celebrations. Every member got a copy.
Lots of interesting history, Wilfred Owen and Siegfried Sasson may well have played the course whilst convalescing after wartime injuries in WW1. Two members were awarded VCs, one in each WW. We have an interesting plaque with the story behind these brave men in our main lounge. The 5th & 6th fairways were turned over to crop production in WW2 and our car park was a bomb shelter at that time also.
