How often do you golf - with a female?

As often as possible. I've just signed up for the mixed fourball winter league. Love it. A half decent bloke can learn a lot from a half decent lady golfer. You just have to open your eyes and wipe away your prejudice and preconceptions.

Got to watch who I play with though. She must be over 65; or must not be a rich widow, or must not be divorced and (for all categories) must not be a looker.

At my old club it was pretty much every week as there was a woman as part of our regular group. At my current club probably once a month as the wife of one of my group joins us if she is not out with the ladies.

I don't have any prejudice or preconceptions, it just happens that I've not played much golf with women. I haven't got a partner to enter mixed events as I don't really know any of the women at my club, and every time there's a drawn comp of any sort I just end up with a fella. I've played 3 rounds at my course now (7 h/cap, 20 h/cap and 30 something I think) and once with Sandy from GoKart and I think that's about it

A few games of pitch and putt with my mum and that's it. Been to the range with HID but she has never ventured out on the course. Taken my daughter up to the putting green a couple of times but she's only 2.

Apart from them, I don't know any other women :(

3 or 4 times a year in the club ,

maybe 5 or 6 times a year in the society ..

If your good company , gender , age , handicap dont matter to me ..

Speaking from experience in my own club i think its the women that are a tad more reluctant to play with the men , esp the lower handicap men

In 3 years, I've played 2 holes with another of the fairer sex.

.... And that was last Thursday when we were going to let her through (Single player) on the 17th and she asked if we'd mind if she joined us.

Our club doesn't have a vast ladies membership unfortunatley.

Every shotgun start at my old place would be mixed groups, I used to help with the "draw" (a bit like the draw for the U.S. Open etc) and there always had to be an all-female group because they didn't want to play with the fellas, I never heard a man request an all male grouping, if there were all male groups it was down to lack of ladies and/or the all-female groups cutting down the number of availabilities.

I wasn't for a moment suggesting that you do - just a general piece of advice.

Just mention to the Lady Captain that you fancy having a go playing in a mixed comp. I guarantee she'll be delighted and will sort it out pronto for you.

We tend to have the opposite problem at my club- men who will only enter mixed drawn comps if they are put in an all male group.

I'm slightly insulted- the last drawn comp, i estimated that two thirds of the men playing had a higher hcp than me....maybe they didn't want to get their butts kicked!

I used to play a lot - in Mixed Pairs or Shotguns - at 1 previous club. Last club a few times in Roll-Ups and loin-ups, but very rare now - last time as a probably 3 years ago.

No Ladies in our bunch - but a few who 'play like girls at times!
