Does there need to be before it will affect a golf shot?

Just seen Rickeee and his caddy discussing the breeze at Hoylake - there ain't any!!!!
Even playing into a 5-6 mph and isn't going to make much difference is it..?

Surely 5-6 mph would make a couple of yards difference which could be the difference in hitting the right part of the green to catch a slope or not.

Not to us, but to the pros yes, they are playing to much finer margins that us.
 
I guess it depends. Anything down wind especially out of rough may make a difference. They are so accurate, especially mid irons and in, that they need to know exactly what difference it would make. For me, a 5-6 mile and hour makes zero difference. I'm jst aiming for a fairway and the middle of a green
