hey folks

I have a dilemma, I have an sc circa, and just got a two ball off a friend to use for the summer, after several rounds, it seems that I prefer the two ball, and I am in the market for one, but do I still need the scotty?

How many putters do you have? is it a good or bad thing to have a few? I have no plans atm to use anything other than the two ball, so do I sell the sc, or hang onto it incase?

cheers

If it were me, id stick the Scotty away in a cupboard for a while, you may go off your 2 ball, and it could make a welcome return later.

Depends how much you need the cash too

i have a couple, my scotty i use and a Yes tracy that is out on loan that i dont really get on with. I like to have a spare available just to change things for a bit if i go through a bad putting spell.

If you want rid of the scotty let me know :)

I always find it good to have a few, I like them to be completely different set ups, sometimes you take out a different putter and it reminds you what you like about your game putter sometimes, it gets you thinking about your set up.

IMO its a healthy thing, to me there is so much research and development that there is not such thing as a bad putter some just suit us more

I started keeping clubs that I changed and am glad I did. Cannot afford gear like I used to be able to so if something is misbehaving or I fancy a change I just put an old club back in the bag. Has saved me plenty of cash.

I think it's a confidence thing, IMO you should try and trust one of the putters, take them both out on a practice round to see what you get on with best. But if you aren't confident about how trustworthy your putting is then keep the Scotty but try and persevere through bad spells

I reallly like the 2 ball, it is taking a little getting used to for distance control, my sc was great from distance, but not so good inside 5 feet, the 2 ball is more assured inside 5 feet, but 30/40 foot putts are harder to judge, both have benefits, but being good from 5 feet is more important to me, as i find this helps my scores.
thanks again

I just keep one. And if it's not working then it my own fault. On a purely unrelated note. I am about to put my odyssey black series i 2 ball up for sale. Not that that's relevant or anything.

lol bw, much you looking?

Brendy, my shifts at work are still up the in air, dont know whether i am coming or going, so its looking doubtful for liffin, I really want to go, but cant put hols in, and work pays the bills. sorry mate.

Four putters at the mo...
Ping Anser which I find a bit light and don't use.

Odyssey 2 ball which is okayish but I don't like insert putters.

Yes Callie which I love for the lag putts but it's dodgy from short range.

Mizuno Bettinardi BC3 which is in the bag at the mo. Love it from 10 feet and in.

Just the Scotty Red X for me.
I like the roll I get.from it and it looks and feels like an old style mallet. It's straight-forward to align and just feels right.

Well if you are interested I was looking to let it go for £60 Inc postage. Let me know your e mither and I'll send you some pictures as soon as I get home.
Cheers
Danny

Only 2 putters here. A cheap £15 thing of eBay when I started playing and an Odyssey SabreTooth bought when I started taking golf more seriously.

I use the SabreTooth exclusively now as I have faith in it and see no reason to change.
