stock shafts in everything- when I was 'fitted' for a driver shaft the best suited to me was the Accra shafts that Luke Donald uses.......as I am totally minted and have several money trees in my garden I of course had them custom fitted in everything I own.........or..................... I said thanks but at my level and frequency of play I'll not notice much, so will stick with the stock offerings- that arent bad with a few manufacturers..:thup:

This is what it comes down to really, unless you have a really quick swing for example, the cost vs benefit equation often comes out not looking to appealing.

A mate of mine booked his son in for a fitting at Precision golf in the summer, the nett result was a 913D2 head with a £390 custom shaft. It made the club the best part of £700!!!! They left without the club.

Stock shafts in everything I use. Never been fitted. In fact, apart from my putter, I've never even bought anything brand new - it has all been 2nd hand off-the-shelf. Would I be better with custom-fitted shafts? Maybe. But, like others, I don't have a bottomless pit of money, so I'll stick to practising my short game.

Stock TFC in my K15 and Diamana Whiteboard in my G20. Use the G20 on links courses as I get more run and hit the ball much lower.

Fitted for my Ping G20, with stock shaft... was at Nicky Lumb at Hambrook... wasn't really enough time to go through all the options though and the balls there aren't great so the trackman figures might not be realistic..

I have never been fitted but do have a custom shaft. My driver is now a lot of years old but a bit of thought went a long way. In my Titleist 983K, the stock was awful for me but a GD YS-6 worked a charm for years. In truth, I never had much luck with stock shafts and the club that remains standout for me is the TM R510TP with speeder 757. I am not a bomber (a good one is 270) and not a super golfer (at best I was 9) but shafts really make a huge difference.

Well i thought there would be more non standard shafts but seems on drivers at least the stock offerings seem to suit

I use the stock shaft in my woods and irons. To be honest I went through a four hour fitting and tried a few options for each iron head and driver I hit. In the end the numbers of the Ping's were too strong to ignore especially as they came out on top in both fitting sessions (the other being with my teaching pro) and I was happy to go with them and the stock shafts.
