How many penalties?

This morning, playing on my own, my tee shot on a par three went into a bunker, under the lip. My first attempt came back, landed on my shoulder and finished back in the sand. I hit out backwards and it hit my bag. Finally pitched onto the green.
I gave myself two penalties. Is that correct?

That seems correct to me.....Just checked on the R&A website, and it's a 1 shot penalty for the ball striking you, and another 1 shot penalty for hitting your equipment.

Look under rule 19.. Ball in motion deflected or stoped. Then click onto rule 19-2.. By player, partner caddy or equipment.

I think this was one of the revisions last time they were issued (Jan 2008). It used to be two.

I believe this revision was partly prompted by a high-profile incident at the Masters a few years back, when Jeff Maggert had a ball bounce back and hit him in a bunker while he was leading, or contending for the lead
