without broadband?

I've had almost two months without BB and it's been an absolute nightmare! :(
Worst part was taking about three minutes just to log on to the forum! I just couldn't be bothered with the hassle of waiting so been awol, practically speaking, since the second week of June.

Broadband restored now so will put it all behind me and hope to never be in similar situation again.

What tales of woe have you to tell?

In a couple of weeks time I'm having to share a flat with this bloke who snores almost as noisily as me.

I would be ok but I reckon it would kill my step kids, even when it goes slow all hell breaks loose in our house. X box iPads and iMacs all reliant on the broadband, if it went down for more than 2 hrs they may have to learn to even talk to each other!

When we moved house we went without for about the same length of time due to the general incompetence of the phone company. It was torture. Especially as I couldn't access any stuff I needed for the degree I am doing when I was at home.

I'll tell you what to do, on the first night in the room together , lean over and kiss him goodnight , i guarantee he won't get to sleep never mind snore.

why do you assume two men sharing a flat will sleep in the same bed?;) busted;)

You certainly appreciate it more when you come back from Ops - early days there was no personal internet etc

LIG has his own bear cave, as does Rosecott. Full Throttle is no sleeping beauty either.

I am bringing ear defenders and taking several sleeping tablets with vast amounts of alcohol just to try and get some kip. It's like a bloody sawmill in that flat!!!

my kids would complain the most as it would mean no netflix etc.. I would probably use the neighbours wifi.....

I remember a few years ago, depth of the recession and I was out of work. Had 2 phone lines in the house and wanted to consolidate bills. Broadband on the spare line and house phone on the main line (dating back to dial up access). Asked Madasafish to transfer Broadand service to the main line, so they promptly cancelled it on spare line and told me I had a 3 week wait to get it active on main line. Family went mad, no FB and no internet, and I was looking for work and had no internet. Ensued tetchy calls to Bangalore 'service' desk suggesting coordination of the changeover would have been preferable. Eventually cancelled change and reverted to previous setup.

Down on the coast, just along from Burnham and Berrow and the WiFi and phone signals are pants!!!!
Might have to talk to HID,....#help!!!
