Im hardly on here now but I have read a few tonight of people talking about there medal rounds and handicap cuts etc which is great.

I am playing NO golf whatsoever due to starting my business which I am pleased to announce has exceeded all expectations in its 1st month  :D

I decided to play in the medal yesterday having not played since playing with Tony N,Gjbike and Rguk 10 days ago and I hadnt played for 2 weeks before that. When I played with the lads I had no idea where it was going so expectations were not high.I managed to grind out a 75 gross to just make buffer which under the circumstances was not bad.Count the amount of good shots on 1 hand though.
Wont be playing this week but will have another chop in the medal this weekend, waste of being a member otherwise!

How has your season started?

Well?
not great but heading in the right direction?
or
Id rather not talk about it!

I thought you did OK that day! You had more pars than I've ever seen anywhere with anyone, and when it looked a little shaky, me and the Vokey saved the bacon!!!

75 gross, tidy I'd say.....any sly birdies?

Just the 2 birdies on 2 par 5s.
Had a double on the 8th after I visited the Aqua!

So I was level for 17 holes but I rode my luck to be honest. When I hit it offline it was not into any trouble where on another hole it would have been out of bounds. My ball rarely saw the middle of any club and had no timing which is to be expected,it was just an 18 hole grind to the clubhouse which in a different way can be very satisfying.

RGDave it was your short game that helped us take out the N and the Bike my friend.
Your chip in on 6 was OOOUUTTTrageous!!!!!!!! ;)

Started OK. A second in the stableford (would have won if I'd kept it in bounds at 18) and third in the division in the monthly medal (2 three putts cost me that too). Not managed to get cut yet but the ball striking is very good and I just need to tidy the short game and putting

So far one medal win, one medal second place and a third in stapleford. 3 shots cut and looking good for a bank holiday weekend of comps.

Is the 8th S.I. 1? (long and lakey?)....ohh that's a tough beast...

What you need to do is - pull your drive, bend (hook) a 9 iron away from the lake and thin a GW to 10 foot short.....

:) only kidding......

That's a bad start, shockingly poor......hang your head in shame.... :D

NOT :)

I've started well, dropped 1 shot already :), but feel it could have been so much better.

I keep throwing away really good scores with poor putting (missed two on sat' from less than a foot) :(.

Yesterday I was 1 over after 7, then proceeded to drop 10 shots on the next 5 holes .

A fantastic score is on the cards, I'm sure of it :p

That's a great score for not playing. 2 is hard to hold onto if you're not out on the course like a religion. One loose shot and you're outta there.

My year has started well, 'bout time I got myself a proper set of bats!

Hiya Alchemy, well congrats on the buisiness venture. Sad to hear you're not getting any golf in. As for myself my golf has been indifferent, however it still hasn't stopped me getting a few suprise results amoungst some of my work mates, when we'd played over the last few months.

Hoping when I buy my season Ticket (Not sure where the money is comming from yet) to start to work on my game when we get back fom the SouthWest.

Just the one medal for me, its not worth talking about!

Shall be getting a good few weekends off from now on so its time to start cutting!!!

up .2 to 2.6,first medal I played awful but played better yesterday hit 16 greens only to have 39 putts for a 77gross...could not buy a putt and ended up having a few needless 3 jabs toward the end out of frustration more than anything.....the heavy night on the ale on Saturday was to blame for my beer touch on the greens I'm afraid but was well happy with the rest of my game so I just need to learn to stop in the night before medals!
