How good do you think yours is?

I recommend GoreTex not Galvin Green etc.
I picked up Callaway tops a few years ago for £40 & £50. One is short sleeve Paclite & the other 'normal' Goretex in a long sleeve. Great at keeping the water out but I would NEVER pay hundreds for a jacket etc.
If you keep an eye out you can get a bargain. That is not to say the others are good, I would also agree it is a matter of use Vrs cost.

Same as this for me.... I wouldnt be able to afford Galvin Greens..... But i have a Gore Tex Nike Jacket that is a nice fit and i bought it for 90 euro.... My Sunnice pants was 100 euro 5 years ago as it was a 2 year old model at the time and its worn every week in the winter.... Its only lately that its getting a bit tatty and worn looking and its time for a change... But it wont be GG....

I have used Proquip rain suits and they have always seen me right. However the wife got me an FJ suit when she worked at a local club and it has really dealt with everything that the weather can throw at it. I read somewhere the new adidas range is featuring Goretex and could be worth a look but fear the price for that make and incorporation may be prohibitive.

I've recently bought a mega bargain Berghaus goretex paclite jacket. Cost me less than a "bog standard" waterproof one.
