I have Blue Mountain (part of Crown Golf) 5 minutes from my door but don't like the course and think I've only played it 4 times in 10 years. The range is terrible too.
So looking at the responses time to get there isn’t that different to most but distance is a bit further. Not sure if I should join a more local club.
I've got about 15-20 mins drive to get to my club which is about 5 miles away. Same time would take me well into the golf heartlands of East Lothian. Now there's a thought....
Having read the responce to this thread I am surprised to find that at 16 miles and about 30 minutes I am one of the furthest travellers.
Its something I must look at for next year, I have two good tracks quite close to me (less than 5 miles) that I should look at. Although more expensive to join I would recoup that money back through the money I would save on petrol.
I try to get down to my course during the week, after work, but by the time I get home from work and travel to the course I dont get there until about 6.20, the closer courses mean I could probably play more golf. Its a difficult decision because my present course is in superb condition, with on-going improvements, any thoughts anyone!!
