How far to the club you are a member of?

2-3 miles, takes bout 5 minutes.

However, my nearest course (which I'm not a member of) is only bout a mile away (I can see it from my room). Horrible course sadly.

15 minutes roughly 8 miles, could join Downfield its 4 miles but 2 grand to join and winter course from October to April no chance.

So looking at the responses time to get there isn’t that different to most but distance is a bit further. Not sure if I should join a more local club.

I'd rather drive half an hour to play a decent course than walk 3 minutes to play a goat track.... ;)

(Mines less than 2 miles away, 5 minutes in the car)
:D :D :D

I've got about 15-20 mins drive to get to my club which is about 5 miles away. Same time would take me well into the golf heartlands of East Lothian. Now there's a thought.... :D

8 minute walk to 2nd / 4th tee. 10 minute walk to 1st tee / clubhouse.

I always walk - you never know when there might be a pint or two consumed post round.

Having read the responce to this thread I am surprised to find that at 16 miles and about 30 minutes I am one of the furthest travellers.
Its something I must look at for next year, I have two good tracks quite close to me (less than 5 miles) that I should look at. Although more expensive to join I would recoup that money back through the money I would save on petrol.
I try to get down to my course during the week, after work, but by the time I get home from work and travel to the course I dont get there until about 6.20, the closer courses mean I could probably play more golf. Its a difficult decision because my present course is in superb condition, with on-going improvements, any thoughts anyone!!
