How do you read greens?

How long you been using this method Martin ? , and have you noticed much difference

According to his blog he 3 putted from 6ft the other day so I would say yes.

It's made his putting worse

:rofl:As a Whitesnake song goes

Here we go again...........

yeah completely the books fault as it's that that swings the putter and not the player........ Where's the snoring smiley when ya need one.........

13 mins :fore:

Mainly have a rough guess at the slope no set method and just go with what I feel

That. And I always go with my first read.

Edit; I concentrate more on pace than line.

Im with these two fellas. Unless I know for certain the break from experience of course :D

Yup, thats how I do it.. I will take an extended look while my PP is taking his putt, but mainly it's a quick look and then concentrate on the pace...

Except when you're playing at Beau Desert and the merest hint of a putter sends the ball racing past ;)

Still having nightmares about the three putts we had :D

Back on topic, see the slope and visulise the ball going in and make the stroke......... and watch the ball going past the hole to see actually what the break was :)

Look at the ball, pick a point it will break from, aim for that point and concentrate on making a smooth stroke striking the ball from the middle. Job done.

NEVER over read a put, your look for breaks that aren't there,

How confident are you that your actually hitting the ball where you think you are???? it's very common seeing people read a putt, pick their spot stand up to the ball and are actually aiming nowhere near where they think they are. Then they blame a poor read when in actual fact their read might have been fine they were just aiming somewhere completely different from where they thought they were.

Personally I work from the hole out, last couple of feet when the ball,is losing speed is when it will break most, depending how far your putting from. Not much apart from getting out there and practising will help you mate.

This is also my method, if I think about it to much I am normally miles off so the hit and hope is the first port of call :D
