How do I find "conversations" please

Hello
I have clicked on a members name and an option is to tart a conversation.
I presume that is how I send a PM
I have made the message , but I cannot see, on my I Pad a "Conversations" to click on to to get to it to see if there is a reply etc.
Which of the top menus on my I pad do I click on to find conversations.

I can't say for an iPad as I am using a laptop but I have an envelope icon with "Inbox" beside it. Clicking on that will show conversations. If you have an "unopened" letter, it will have a red number by it, just like the notificaitons on the bell for likes, quotes etc.
