Hi chaps, been away from the forum for a while. Have had severe tendonitis in the right arm/shoulder joint and haven't played for 3 weeks - going crazy!!

Anyway, the injury has got me thinking about the golf bag I use, whether I really need it, and whether it may have caused the injury. I currently use a Titleist tour bag, massive with loads of pockets, but very heavy especially when lifting in and out of the car, onto and off the trolley etc. So what have I got in the bag.....everything. Do I use everything and thus need it all....no. Result - I'm going back to a lightweight carry bag that will fit onto my 'leccy trolley.

What sort of bag do you guys use......and do you really need it if it is a monster?

Mizuno srcatch sac... carry me 3w, Hybrid, 4-Pw 2 wedges and putter! pocket for balls + Pocket for Jumper / waterproofs and one for valuables + can carry a brolly

Size really small pencil bag - functionalilty perfecto!

i have the 2 extremes - a tour bag which goes on the electric trolley and can hold anything and everything, and a small lightweight carry bag which will hold the basics and little else

Ive just purchased a titleist light-weight carry bag. Got a bargain, £50 for a brand new bag that retails at £80.

Anyhow, I can get all my clubs in it, balls, tee's, gloves, space for a couple of drinks and a banana, somewhere to hook a towel, a brolley loop and also a waterproofs pocket.

That will do me until I get a new tour-bag but that is waiting on someones motor needing servicing as I will have a bit of a fiddle there.

You mean you don't have a man at your club to lift your bag out of your car for you??? :D ;)

It depends. If I'm in a comp then I want to have my waterproofs, spare gloves, towels, snacks, drinks etc with me particularly if the forecast is iffy and so I pack it well and let the GK (or other equally reputable trollies) take the strain.

If its really hot like it was a few weeks back (doesn't it seem an age already) then I'll probably only take my drinks and snacks and may well carry especially in a roll up game. I actually carried yesterday in the comp as I chopped it so badly on Saturday I had trouble getting the trolly anywhere near where the ball was
