Hey guys haven't posted in a while

Unfortunately while most people have been working on their swings, short game and general golf game over the winter months i have-not been :(. This is due to two thumb injuries that stop me from hitting the ball with any force and distracting my brain from the shot at hand.

Coming at to the end of my injury departure, how am i going to get my game back to its former (low) heights? My ball striking is shocking and always will be while my short game will be considerably rusty. Also, unfortunately i have little time to practice (about 2 hours a week) due to other commitments.

Cheers for any help in advance :)

My advice would be to start slowly so as not to aggravate the existing injury too much. If you use the spare time you do have to focus on the chipping and putting it might save a few shots. Alternatively why not just hit balls the first week and see how bad the swing really is and take it from there.

I do have some good news. Whenever I have an extened break I'm not normally too bad first time out. However it does seem to diminish rapidly after that unless I get some practice in. WHatever you do I hope your injury is fully healed and enjoy whatever golf you can over the festive period and beyond

i had a wrist op a couple of years ago and went threw much the same as you are ..as homer says take it easy ..start with half swings and and the ball td` up so ur not strikin down and jarrin ur thumb.. u have all winter to get back into it so don`t get down on ur self , maybe check with ur doc about physio to build up ur strength and movement in ur thumb ..cheers gcd

Use the Force Robokolo. Use the Force.

On a more serious note, if your long game is always going to be shocking then it won't take long to get back to that level. Spend most of your practice time on your short game to start with mainly putting with a little chipping and gradually move on to longer pitches thus giving your injuries time to really heal and hey presto a gret short game to hold the rest of the game together until it improves.

Why don't you get yourself a 2Thumb putter grip!

(sorry, couldn't resist!)

Depends how sore your injury still is but just don't rush it. A little bit of practice and patience your game will come back, usually sooner than you think if you just have a bit of patience.
