Evenin' all
My golf lately has been infrequent and a bit lackadasical, some decent shots let down by feeble putting, so went out late this afternoon with one thought in my head - smooth putting action. It paid off straight away with par on 1 and 2 - and 3 and 4. Then 5. Yes, my swing was going nicely too. Birdied 6 (!)
Bit of a dip on the next 2 holes, then it was back to making pars, putting helped by some nicely weighted chips.
Then came my bogey hole 12 on which I took - wait for it - 11 (a story there in itself and putting - or lack of it - was involved big time).
Cursing and with confidene rattled I failed to make any more pars - but I did get 3 more birdies!!!
Including my 11 I scored 80 - best ever by far.
No excuse now for not breakng 80 any time soon!
Don't ask what I was on. Just thought I would share the moment.

80 with an 11 is some great shooting AliB , just take all the positives from it. The 11 was just golfs way of reminding you to not get carried away and think too far ahead.

Well done , we'll be waiting for your comp score updates now..

Pleased in the end - best not to be greedy.
With hacap that only just got down to 20, up to now, 'birdie' has rarely featured in my golfing vocab!

Wow! I was miffed with a double at the last for my 80 the other day so doing it with an 11 is something else.

Just don't force it, that sub-80 will come of its own accord now.

Ali, that is some fantastic shooting, now that the weather is, dare I say it, hot and I'm well on the way to playing a full 18 again we'll have to rearrange that game we never got round to havin at Naunton Downs and you can show me how to play golf properly
