How are things now in Christchurch, I guess a lot has been done now to the earthquake damage. I have a cousin in Napier, is that far from you?

Napier is in the North island so fair way.
Will be many years before Christchurch is finished, still knocking down buildings in the CBD and have really only just started on the houses that need to come down ( 6000+ I think ).
There is a Re-start mall made out of containers which is popular on the outskirts of the CBD but lots and lots of pubs/ restaurants have gone so eating out can be a bit of a mission.
Having said that there is great optimism for the future and we'll definitely be returning to see all our friends and how the rebuild has gone.

Hot Christmases are great. We used to head for a golf resort with 5 other families for Christmas and new year in South Africa. Wake up and play a round then head back to the chalet for breakfast and pressies. Hit the course again and then have a braai for Christmas dinner.
