Today I played Bridgnorth GC and was really up for making serious inroads on my start of season form. But for some strange reason I couldn't putt.
Now usually putting and chipping is my strong point and I might as well of not turned up it was that bad. I think it put 20 shots on my round which is seriously bad in my eyes.
But since it was all going wrong there was a turn in fortune. With 150yards to go I hit a lovely 7 iron into the mild headwind and it pitched left centre of the green which I was aiming for and slowly made it's way towards the hole and dropped in for a birdie!!! Happy days!!!

So just remember no matter how much your having a bad day on the course there is always room for hope to come along and keep you interested.

The Golfing Gods are sly buggers

If you've had a great round you'll almost certainly blow the last hole and be determined to come back and rectify it -

You'll have a 'mare of a round but chip in on the last to give you some hope that you can play this game after all.

Amen

Having played ok for the first 13 holes ( nothing special ) it all went tits up for the next 4 and a half holes, until about 80 odd yards away on the 18th ( in 3 or 4 - I forget now :o ) and I'm just about ready to chuck the lot in the lake.

When suddenly, out of nowhere, appears a beautiful shiny wedge shot to 4 feet , and one putt.

Stupid bloody game.

It's always the same... During a bad round you pull off a great shot which keeps you interested and makes sure you come back for another round.

Such an annoying but challenging drug is golf! :)
