Im getting married in August, and looking to book a last minute honeymoon in September.
Looking for any suggestions on where to go.
Going to have around £2000 to spend on it. 2 weeks in the sun Must be all inclusive.

Any recommendations??

Thanks

Mexico-Playa del Carmen. We stayed at the Riu Tequila. Loved it.
Dom Republic is nice but not a patch on Mexico IMO.

Yeah Mexico All Inclusive is also very nice - lots of nice complexes near Cancun

Think we felt a bit more safe when leaving the Complex in Mexico as oppose to Dom Rep. I'd stay clear of Cancun when its US spring break.

Didnt bother leaving the complex in Dom Republic.

Some of them now though have built purpose little tourist areas ( well policed )

We went out of complex once, didn't get any trouble but felt a bit in unnerve. Probably just been paranoid because I'd heard a few bad stories.

Iberostar cancun (formerly Hilton cancun) like all iberostar hotels the quality is fantastic. Plus why the iberostar cancun, there is a fantastic 18 hole golf course affiliated to the hotel hire clubs or take your own it is just fandabby doozie.

just watch out for the crocs on the course.

loved Kenya and the safari.

loved Cuba, nice golf course at varadero, but not quite as good as cancun.

jamacia didn't rock my boat.

dominican is very nice.

las Vegas but you may only get a week. And it's mental not relaxing.

italy molto bella.

got to be Cancun iberostar.

PS even the wife loved driving round the course with the buggy, however we had a large domestic when she pulled up at the side of a 8-9ft croc which I did not see. If I knew how to transfer photos from laptop to iPod I would upload them.
oh ah thousands of iguanas

I've stayed at a few iberostars & like Riu hotels have all been excellent.

My lads there now, comes back tomorrow, we were there last year for spring break and yes most of our colonial american brothers can be a bit gobby, but there is plenty of places to get away from them. Having said all that just come back from a 4 day break in Budapest and those (stag weekend) English clowns on the plane singing rascist songs and swearing didn't exactly endear themselves to the rest of the plane.

Advice above answers your spec better than I can, however, something a little different perhaps .....

We spent a couple of weeks traveling around Thailand - Bangkok is amazing, but rest of county is great, really easy to get around, english widely spoken, inexpensive and food is top notch (provided you both like thai!). It won't be all sea & sand but will be a trip you will both remember!

Vegas has been mentioned and that place is totally mental. I will be spending the start of honeymoon there in the summer and can't wait. I will never get over the rolling in from the bars at 6:00 in the morning going in the hotel casino to waste some money before having breakfast and going to bed.

Never been Mexico myself but know lads who have been there for their honeymoon and had a fantastic time. I have always gone on holiday in Europe for a quick vacation in September time, but the weather can be a bit hit or miss at times. I have had it where I am sat in the hotel for 2 days because of the rain.

Cuba, end of.
No annoying Yanks to contend with and the people are amazing. Been three times, I'd pick it over Dominican any day of the week.
Not been to Mexico, I know some people who love it but I've never fancied it.
Jamaica is eye opening and nice but proper rough as buggery.

Had my honeymoon in Dom Rep (Cayo Levantado - it's a hotel on it's own private island), was truly amazing, loved it.

Mexico is really nice (Coco Bongo's - top night out!), as is Cuba. However, someone mentioned Thailand. Seriously, have a look there if you can. Me and the Mrs went there a couple of years ago and it's up there with New York for one of the best holiday's I've ever had. Food, weather, people, beaches etc... are all top! Really surprised me how much I enjoyed the place.

We'd go back in a heartbeat.

I would agree with the comments on Thailand, great fun, place and people are superb and food and drink is cheap as you like. I would love to go back.

If you can get a good deal I like Antigua and I am sure that I spent less than your budget last time I went.

If am going somewhere just to get away from it all I still pick Northern Cyprus. Not expensive to get to or stay there and your money goes a long was as it is not in the Euro.
