Thinking about the European Tour rule that states that if a player misses his home open, he has to play 3 additional tournaments to make up his minimum requirement, doesn’t this discriminate against English players, since the isn’t an English Open?

Perhaps when theY brought back the British Masters it should have been the English Open instead, considering there was already the Scottish, Irish and Welsh Opens?

Thoughts?

Not sure there is a welsh open either.

Difficult as the Scottish and Irish are Rolex events so would be difficult for some players to get into. Assume some of the ;ower ranked players holding restricted Tour Cards would also struggle to get the necessary number of starts (yet alone 3 more)
