It's raining all the time here, so my spare time goes into hitting range balls. What's everyone else working on? Any drills? Mine is a very slow motion move from low tee position to high finish, trying to maximise extension and weight transfer. Two of these, then try it with a full swing and a ball.

I've been hitting the irons a tad out to the right because I've got into the habit of a more upright swing , so I'm working on trying to flatten it out. I hate it when bad habits creep back in. :(

I'm (As per thread in the Expert section) working on my right hip moving back in the backswing (No sway).

The main focus of my work however is through transition. Getting this right is taking a bit of time with me.

Drills include:

Taking my address stance and then stepping behind the ball. Make a swing and before I get to the top, take a step to the left and swing while the arms still coil back.

A similar drill is also to stamp my left foot beofre starting down.

I also have a drill using an alignment stick placed infront of me (Vertically) with the idea of turning my hips past the stick.

So far, slow going, but I'll get there

Are you playing golf or doing the Haka??

Been doing a lot of work on pitching especially distance control as well as the odd full swing session. Think I've over done it as I have a touch of golfers elbow at the moment. With the course likely to be shut tomorrow I want to get out and do something. Worse case scenario I might put I20 iron up against I25 and see how they go (it was dark when I tried them on Monday)

I reckon that pitching is time really well spent. Gives us the opporunity to just swing a weighted club with hands and arms.

Been to the range 3 times this week started the week with a weak cut with all clubs and loss of distance that I have noticed on the course. Realized that I was fanning the club open on the back swing so my take away now feels that I'm taking it back closed but hitting it straight and longer. So happy shame I can't try it on the course

Hit 50 balls today for first time in 3 weeks, wind blowing rain into bay and onto glasses. so no great expectations. Nailed my first 5 shots , couple of wayward ones then rest right on the money so well happy, well apart from that course will probably be closed all weekend.........

Aaargh - the range - still having nightmares about my visit to St Andrews Links range on Monday - obviously too posh for me - visit to Ballumbie range in the morning will hopefully sort me out.

Keeping club closed on the backswing and position at the top are what I'm working on - was great last week - much less so in midweek.
