Evening all,
I hope that there are a few experienced in the art of practicing at home....
What im really asking. Is it possible to practice your game at home....And i mean all aspects within reason...
The reason i ask is that the range i spent most of my chipping and putting practice on last season is closed down and quite frankly the one thats left i wouldnt exactly call it a range...It has limited facilities poor quality balls and no practice area for putting....
All im really getting in at the moment is a half hour putting practice before a round at the weekend which is nowhere near enough..And now im beginning to see the impact its having on my game...
From 120 in there is also heaps of room for improvement.
Im thinking of getting a practice net for the summer and im going to try and get to the club which is a 40 minute drive on saturdays if im playing sunday mornings but having to bring a 3 year old as well will be a little distracting at times(he's not the worst)

Bad luck about your local range.

I had a net in the garden for a while a few years back which was great for grooving a full swing and working on drills but for short stuff it's about feel and accuracy as well as technique and you need to be aiming at a target and see the ball land. So if it's 120 and in you are looking to improve a net will only be of limited help. It may mean though that when you are at the course you can spend less time on the long game and more on the shorter shots.

I think you can do putting practise.

I'm actually doing it right now. I've got the putter on the rug in the conservatory and practising my technique and my 6 inch and in putts.

It's working a treat at the moment since my putting is crap as of late.

Just ensure your rug is a flat one. A nice worn bit of carpet would work well too if you have any bits in the garage... :)

Good luck mate :)

I can work on my putting and that's about it. The ceilings are too low for any full swings (guess I should have factored that in when buying) and the garden is too small for a net or anything simialar. I'm lucky that I've one very good and two adequate ranges nearby and the club has a practice ground so within the next few weeks I can start practicing as much as I want after work

I've got a putting mat and SKLZ Flytrap Chipping net. Both are useful. Beyond that I can't see benefit of practice at home if you don't have trackman. You need to know distance (pitches) ball flight (long shots) a net on it's own won't tell you that. Sorry buddy.
