Eyup lads and lasses, I need a bit of advice with choosing a holiday.
We're planning on going away in Feb/March time for a couple of weeks, somewhere warm obviously. Going back to Oz is high on the list but I want some more options to consider.
We've done the Caribbean all inclusive thing, I don't mind doing it again (Mexico maybe, haven't been there) but we really are open to anything as long as there's plenty to do on an evening. We've been to some all inclusive hotels and there's literally sod all to do at night, a dodgy show to watch by the entertainment crew
Fire away.

If you're looking to be entertained too, that excludes some great places. Sri Lanka and India, the Maldives and Mauritius, China and Japan. How about some of the resort destinations in South Africa - maybe drop Cam a PM?

Moon Palace , Cancun. 27 golf holes and loads to do.

Uk Major golf tour operators cover it. Excellent place

Thirded. Been there twice in the last 18 months, absolutely love it. We stay in the Golf Villas as you get your own golf buggy so can explore the whole resort and easily go to restaurants at all 3 bases. Bloody love Moon Palace.

We stayed in the Nizuc zone... walked out of the room, onto the beach. Had a Jacuzzi in the room, mini bar had "optics" too.... all inclusive. Lots of restaurants, all tip-top. Went to Chichen Itza, bit of a trek, but well worth it.

Golf course really good too.... good practice ground, lots of gators on display too..... don't get too close! :)

Yeah, golf suites the same, except for the beach :p Having a jacuzzi in the room is so nice. We also did Chichen Itza the first time, was fantastic, and visiting a cenote on the way back to the hotel was awesome.

We didn't see too many gators the first time in June, but saw one almost every day in October. Not too big, so not particularly scary, but still pretty creepy seeing one just chilling out next to the tee.

Love Moon Palace so much and we will definitely go back, and we never do that, rarely go back to the same resort twice. The service is absolutely top notch. A couple of the bar tenders on the golf course were great fun, and it got to the point where they'd see our buggies on the hole before the bar and start getting our cocktails ready for us. Can't beat an ice cold margarita every 4 or so holes :D What a place.

Had my 50th birthday there... when I played golf the day of my birthday, they refused to serve me water at the on course refreshment huts! Margaritas pay havoc with the swing! Had birthday dinner in the Italian in the Golf Club house, was really well looked after

Haha, less the swing, more the putting for me, gets more and more difficult to read lines :p Loved the Italian the first time we went, but found the menu pretty limited in October, which was a shame, as it was my favourite restaurant last time. The Mexican at the golf club is next level, could eat their cochinita pibil all day.

Bringing back memories this thread it's 22 years since we were at the Moon Palace, no golf course there at that time but it was a lovely place to stay.
