Too preventing balls bouncing off the thick pins with added ball removal contraption we had previously.

With no retrieval system....why not just have normal flagsticks.??

This pin/insert setup has a bung at the bottom of the pin that stops the ball dropping into the bottom of the hole. You can retrieve the ball without touching anything.

OK.. but couldn't they do that with normal size pins.?
Most clubs I've seen that don't have the lifty uppy things have a "bung" at the base but normal size pins..

Our pins were not normal sized. They were really heavy and thick. These appear to stand up to the wind well.
I suspect my club did not want an improvised solution like a piece of foam in the hole. That works perfectly well too of course.
