That brought a tear af laughter to my eye and happy memories. You would not believe how common that situation is.
Many years ago I spent a few years as a night manager in a Thistle Hotel. I saw it a few times. Most common was late a night when a guest had a few drinks , woke up and opened the wrong door thinking it was the toilet, only to find himself in the corridor and door closed behind.
It was always a bloke never a woman (unfortunately) The receptionist knew exactley what he was doing by asking for ID, he's seen it all before and it was his little private joke to amuse himself.
I feel I could write a book about funny hotel incidents like that

I could probably write a book myself about my what I saw in 4 years in a nightclub and 4 years in a hotel!
The person showering and changing in full view of the main landing is never the 21 year old female in room x it's always the overweight 55 year old male in the next room!
