The wife works for a bargain basement retailer who specialises in bulk-buying end-of-range/liquidated stock and selling it on. She has just been on the blower to tell me they have got in some Hi-Tec golf shoes, namely the Dry-tec G300 and the CDT Power 501.

She says they only got in 4 pairs of each, and there is a pair in my size in both. The G300s are getting sold at £34.99, and the Power 501s at £39.99 minus her discount. She's kept them aside for me and put the rest on the shop floor, and they have sold all bar one pair.

I'm tempted to buy at least one of the pairs as I need a new pair of shoes, as my Nike Heritages are starting to leak but wanted to know whether anyone got any experience of either of the above varieties?

You can pick up Adizeros for about the same price.

Would that not result in being banned from the course though ;)

Can you not get a hold of them to try on? I have tried on a pair of hi-tecs in the past and the were quiet comfy. Had no intention of buying on that day though.

My only experience with them is that my mate was talked into buying some about five years ago and killed them very quickly.

Can't the wife bring a pair home? I had a pair of Hi-tec many moons ago and they did last well. Not the comfiest and eventually they became the range ones as walking too far hurt my feet in them

I have a pair of hi-Tec and do not think I spent more than 40.00 on them. Decent enough shoe, comfy enough decent quality but also not going to set the world on fire
