• We'd like to take this opportunity to wish you a Happy Holidays and a very Merry Christmas from all at Golf Monthly. Thank you for sharing your 2025 with us!

He's back.

It is a good video, but I feel a bit uncomfortable with it in that the other player seem to be portraying a losers attitude.(all be it in jest)
They may feel inferior to Woods, but they don't have to reinforce that feeling through this ad.
Just shows what the Nike buck can buy.
It just doesn't sit right with me.

The players probably had no option than to appear in the video. Oh, yeah, there was another option - find a new equipment supplier :)

Whilst it's good to see the one golfer that non golfers can name back in the field. I think it's taking away from the achievements of the others.

But hey, money talks, and no doubt the others were a little put out, but contracts are contracts.

Can't believe they all took part in good humour.

Great video but I have to echo A_F comments. Whilst it may be in jest the simple fact that this advert was produced shows how Tiger still intimidates those players as if not they would not have agreed to it.

I am surprised Tiger agreed to it as well as it makes him seem pretty big headed to be honest, when usually he seems pretty humble in victory and defeat.

Having read the thread comments here before watching the vid, I was expecting something much more demeaning to the other Nike players than I actually saw.

All I did see was a clever, light-hearted take on Tiger's return... or did I miss something darker and more insidious??

There is nothing really darker or more sinister about it than what you mention Jezz.

It just acts as a joke upon the fact that the other players are so far behind Tiger they have a hugely reduced chance of winning when he is in the field- which I in fact agree with, and something which probably is the case.

The issue I see though is how is this mindset going to serve Stewart Cink for example when he is coming down the back 9 of the masters on Sunday level with Tiger Woods? The video although in jest just seems to act as a mental confession of Tigers superiority and with players thinking like that they will never be able to beat him and overhaul his world number 1 spot.

That's my take on it anyway. I personally would never want to openly concede that I feel I can't beat one of my opponents on any given week out on tour as it immediately gives you a psychological disadvantage- and let's face it that is something players do not need when stuck with the task of outscoring Tiger woods over four days of golf!

Also it does make Tiger seem a little conceited through allowing the advert to be formed as it is clearly saying he is much better than the others and all but unbeatable on any given week, which although possibly true- in the past has been something Tiger has avoided alluding to. To prevent either annoying his fellow tour players or coming across as arrogant and big-headed.

Again though this is just my pessimistic perception of the video :D

What he said.

I tend to disagree with comments supporting this vids portrayal of golfers intimidated by Tiger, the fact is they are all payed big money to play the part, they are all in effect Nike puppets. To me its more a sad advert than a great one.
