Hi,

Looking for some help and some suggestions for drills I could possibly use during practice. Simple explanation of my issue - I start the backswing well and get in to a good position at the top then during the transition it all starts to go wrong. Have got in to a bad habit of starting the downswing by dipping my left shoulder and straightening my right leg - get in to a bit of a reverse pivot position with the club going to far back and across the line. While I can get away with this to a certain extent with my irons (have actually been hitting them well), the issue really messes up the longer clubs and especially with a driver. Been trying to keep the right knee more flexed, making a 3/4 swing (which I find hard to keep it that short) and starting my transition with the left knee. As I said - any drills recommended for these issues?

Thanks

Have a search for the chair drill it's used to stop an early extension (coming out of the shot) it should help with keeping some flex in the right knee.

If you know the correct positions you should be getting into I would suggest just practicing the swing in slow motion without hitting any balls just to groove the feeling of where you should be at any given point. Then slowly build the speed up until you are swinging at full speed.

THEN once you have got it right you can put a ball in front of the club.

However, if you don't know the correct positions to get into, book a lesson
