Quick update on the total..we've had a few more bet payments and the Vice-Captain from Aldwickbury Park took away a few wristbands and managed to raise £70 from members at APGC..(£87.50 inc gift aid)......
Total currently stands at £17,874 assuming the one remaining auction item is paid adding on gift aid.
So some of you will have seen from the green fee voucher thread that we finally made the £18k mark......
£18,002.75 to be precise.
We've had some donations from jon25new, LIG and Slime this week to get us past the milestone.
Hey Rick that's amazing.
All the donators should as you say be patted on the back.
You and all the organisers have done an amazing job,and your hard work has
certainly payed off,and the money has gone to a very worthy cause.
Its great news that the total of the previous year has been surpassed.
Get your deserved rest and good luck with next year.
For those of you that do not have a direct link to current serving members of the armed forces, people do not realise how much these type of things mean to us in the Armed Forces. The people involved in this are not going to receive a knighthood or any kind of reward for their hard work, they are just doing it to show their support for the men and women of the UK that put their lives on the line for their country and the people at live in it. Trust me, when you are stuck in somewhere like Afghanistan it is always nice to know that the people back home have our back and are behind us.
Gutted I had to drop out, but the RAF decided they had somewhere else for me to be instead.
I know that feeling! Where do you work? I'm not too far away at Honington
Coningsby
Armourer, you? Are you happy to be out? Thinking of leaving myself after i'm back from Bastion next year...Only done 5 though!
Was TG3 then TG4
Delighted to be finally done
Totally different outfit to when I first joined - no enjoyment from the job
Seems a lot of people around me are thinking the same, lot of pvr's recently.
Fed up with it also. AV Tech (ex leckie) here. I am out next June after 16 years. Less people, more responsibility and the constant crap has finally taken its toll. I always said as soon as I become bitter and twisted I'll be gone.
Or the sand is browner as I am off to Eastern California to marry my fiancée and stay there as soon as I am out as the visa should be here around June time.I got caught in the pension trap so just armed myself with as many qualifications as possible and tried to tailor my final years towards civilian lifeIt's a shame it say the grass is greener
