Our society is off to Swansea this year so thought id ask all the good people here 1st for some advice of what are the better courses around there.

We are gonna be playing 2 courses so any help will be much appreciated also any info on places to eat n drink

The club I'm at has organised a trip down that way in Sept and have got these three booked up.

Pennard Golf Club, Ashburnham Golf Club, Langland Bay Golf Club.

I'm afraid that's all I can help with though.

Pennard Golf Club.
It's about 7½ miles out from Swansea and is a fabulous course.
It really is a 'must play' golf course ....................... especially when the wind is blowing.

Pennard
macy peninsula
Langland bay

in that order for Swansea golf for me.

Royal Porthcawl and Ashburnham if you are happy to travel 40 mins ish from Swansea

I play in Swansea regularly as I work there.

Morriston is a hidden gem of a parkland course, but Langland bay is just amazing, Pennard is a close second. Im not the biggest fan of Machynnys, depending on your society it is very very long and if the wind gets up it can be unplayable and an un enjoyable golfing experience.

The mond is very flat and I personally dont find it very inspiring. Clyne is not bad if you fancy a 20 min drive out of Swansea then Neath is really worth a look.

But on the whole I would agree with everyone else, Pennard is the number one course around here then Langland and personally I love Morriston.

Oh, and there's a new rule that states that if you play Pennard you MUST write up a review!

I think all the best courses have already been covered, the only additional one I can think of that you might want to add to your list is Tenby although that is maybe 40mins to 1hr away. Pennard and Ashburnham are both lovely. However, I disagree with the comments about Machynys, I really like it, especially the back 9. I've played it a couple of times off the back tees and it is a really tough test.
