Hi all,

New to the forum so thought I would introduce myself.

I am new to golf and looking for some advise on clubs and to meet fellow beginners for a round or if anyone more experienced players fancy a game and can help me improve mine then that will be great.

I have played a few rounds with some friends who are also beginners, I have used their clubs and really have enjoyed playing and would like to get some more games under my belt.

I live in Basingstoke Hampshire near Sherfield oaks golf club. I haven't actually played there yet. If anyone in my area fancy a round then please get in touch. I do have some borrowed clubs at present. I also have the correct attire.

Welcome, you will get loads of advice and help here, dont be afraid to ask questions, there are lots of beginners on here and we all ask lots of questions, and always get very useful answers. I am sure there will be lots of people offering t meet up for rounds.

Hi Sparky - welcome to the world of fun and frustration. My advice would be to get a decent make (Mizuno, Titleist, Tylor Made, Calloway, Cleveland etc) set of cavity-back irons, and woods from a similar make. Better to buy second hand than choose a cheaper make new. Also, get lessons now before you get in any bad habits! Shefield Oaks is a decent course so I would give it a try.

Hi sparky, welcome. I am based up the road in Aldershot, but can play Sherfield Oaks free as a Crown Golf member. If you want to arrange something at some point, let me know.
