Helicopter Driver

Ashamed to say I threw my driver today so high into the trees left of our 16th tee it nearly lodged itself up there 🚁

I had a dreadful front 9, really struggling off the tee but scrambled 13 points somehow with only 2 decent pars and 1 blob.

Then after an unusual nett par on the 10th by going down our 16th fairway I parred the next 5 holes, mainly due to a good short game after poor but not as bad drives as what I was fighting against on the front 9, and then I stood on the 16th tee after amassing 17 points on the last 6 holes and.........off my ball went miles to the right never to be seen again with my driver closely following it 🚁🚁🚁

I finished with 30 points, 5 straight back to back pars on some of our most difficult holes (7 in total) only then to implode 😡

Stupid game 👆

Did you actually throw it or was it the follow through of your swing that caused your driver to take off?

Watched my FC helicopter a brand new Titleist wedge into the tree near our 1st green couple of years back...and it never came back out 😁😁

Did you actually throw it or was it the follow through of your swing that caused your driver to take off?

The ball went right, well right and lost, I then launched the driver high into the trees left, there was then an eerie silence as my pp's waited for my next reaction not knowing to laugh, stay silent or commiserate (or run) after 6 really good holes😜

Only time I threw a club was with the driver, crap drive way left and I let go of the driver after a full rotation of the right arm. Driver went up, then down hitting the ground where upon the head went one way and the shaft the other. My pp's all fell about laughing their heads off. What else could aim do but join them. Never again though.

I played yesterday in a comp with someone who helicoptered his sand wedge after playing a decent sand shot, apparently because he was angry that it was a really bad bounce that deposited in there !

If I were to helicopter a club each time the ball ended where I didn't want it to .........

Always throw a club ahead of you to save having to go back and pick it up.

Couple of questions if I may

If you helicopter a modern driver:

1. What is the ideal loft and draw/fade bias to set the club on in order to maximise the distance/dispersion?
2. Are there any specific club flight laws we need to consider?
3. Will a Tour spec shaft offer a more scenic flightpath?
4. Is Titleist still the No1 driver to helicopter in the pro game?
5. I went to AG to try helicoptering a few on their flightscope thingy and I seemed to be getting much better results, do they fiddle to stats to make drivers perform better than real life?

You deliberately threw a club after a bad shot? The only time I have seen that previously was when my two year old daughter did the same with her plastic golf clubs in the house.

Complete & utter petulance, no excuses for behaviour like that imo.
