Has anyone used the callaway hex black ball ?

Rather than start yet another thread, I used the search function and hey presto, I can boing this thread!

Wondered if anyone can report back on long term use of the Hex Tour Chrome and has compared it the Hex Tour Black?

Callaway says the Chrome is for sub-tour speed swings, but not sure where they put the cut-off point.

Any feedback on the Chrome vs Black and comparisons between them gratefully received.

wondering the same thing myself, chrome costs a little less and ive found it fine around the green, ive not had a chance to test with the big stick yet to compare distances to see if im getting punished, think my SS is about 110

I got a pack of 12 Chrome free with my new Callaway woods the other day. Tried them this weekend. Lovely ball, feels soft in the hand and I really liked playing it.

Personally I think many people are ball snobs and wouldnt notice the difference if they were using a differet ball but with their "badge" on. obviously not all though, some I'm sure can tell the difference.

I'd definitely use this ball though, more than happy with it.

I have used them and really liked them. Would put them in the same category as Z Stars or Pro V1x's.

As I posted earlier, though perhaps confusingly across a page boundary, the Chrome feels too much of a rock for me.

The Hex Black feels very good, though a Z-Star performed even better for me on Saturday!

Used both, as replacements for the Tour is & iz from last year. The Black is still a bit underused as I prefer to let the weather warm up before bringing them out. I find that they feel nicer when they get warmed up and a tad softer, having said that, they have been good so far. I've been using the Chrome as my regular ball for a while now and love it - can't see what someone said about feeling like a rock at all, it feels really nice both on full shots and around the green. Pretty resilient to wear as well - assuming it stays in play they seem to last about 3-5 rounds before getting really marked up.
