I'll need to try this ball. Unlike most, I actually quite liked the Calloway is.
But I find the z star clicky. So what do I know ?

Got some Tour Is as a prize las year and found them way too firm off the putter. It has been an ongoing issue with all Cally premiuim balls going back to their blue and red range and so I'd rather try the Bridgestone or Srixon (cheaper) than another Cally incarnation

Its the only bit of Callaway kit I would use. For me they give a much more stable flight with less (side) spin than other brands, having tried them all........

Trying them at the moment as considerably cheaper than the Prov's out here. As long as and good in the wind. No issues putting but cant get the same spin with the little dinky shots around the green but they may be the new wedges.

Irons, woods and wedges and its a great ball. Sounds like a top flite off a putter face.

Gotta love this quote I think they are clicky and prefer the pro v1 it's my opinion.have used in 2 medals and general play and just feel clicky when playing short pitches around the green

Anybody used the Hex Chrome which is supposed to be softer feeling for slower swing speeds (that's me!)
Interested in the view that the Hex Black is too "clicky" by which I assume people mean too firm. Of course preferences in relation to the feel of the ball are very personal but Callaway balls seem to work OK for Phil Mickelson and he isn't exactly known for having a dodgy short game. Ernie likes it too. Some videos on the Callaway site.

There is no guarantee that either of the players mentioned are playing the same ball that you buy, or even the same ball between them. The ball manufacturers often make specific balls for each player, that you can't buy, and if you could, they would not work for you. Nike are very good at this, don't know about Cally.

Played 18 holes yesterday in windy conditions at Machrihanish. This ball is better than any other offerings on the market, so so stable in the wind and the feel is better than any other premium ball. Don't understand how people call it "clicky" really don't get that at all.

Well worth a try, fantastic ball for me. Too many peeps give advice on balls when it is such a subjective subject. One person can love the feel of a ball, another hate the flight and another find them clicky [/FONT]:rofl:. Try them and if they work for YOU buy as many as you can afford in case they stop making them.

I haven't played with them but the advert on Sky Sports "look down on the ball that others look up to" is even more annoying than other callaway ad for club that "all other adjustable drivers will just have to adjust"

Best ball I ever played in the wind was the TM TP black. No longer make them but fortunately I've two dozen left and they worked a treat today

I bought a sleeve of the Callaways to try out, I thought they were quite good for the long game but definitely clicky for short game. Gave the other 2 to a couple of mates to try, both said the same thing. They both play the Pro V1x and I play Pentas and the Hex is firmer than either of them.

I got three free on a trial (I suspect from the same place as some of the other guys on here...).
I found them to be quite nice and certainly held up better in the wind ie went where they were supposed to rather than going off line. Bit firm off the putter and scuffed up really easily. Also didn't seem to be able to get them off the ground on short stuff (maybe my swing speed).
I prefer ProV1's overall and would spend my money there instead.
