Haha, I don't think anyone is silly enough to have a ball fitting!
Plenty of pointers to what ball you should be playing on the manufacturers sites or just use balls that you find and see which you like, anyway heres my guide...
28-14 handicap - quality 2 piece distance ball, designed to be straight and long which you need.
14 - 7 handicap - Time to move on to a softer ball with not to much spin, E6, AD333 Etc
7 handicap and below - now you've got this low, you will benefit from a premium ball!

My 2 cents: take a selection of balls and compare their performance when chipping and putting. You'll find there's a huge variance and one will probably stand out as having the best feel, so go with that one. In the unlikely event you are left with 2 or 3 that feel the same, then compare them with the driver. Bear in mind you might need to repeat the test when the greens are firmer. I use NXTs in winter and Pro-V1s in the main season.

Had a ball fitting with Titleist last week at Silveremere, it was IPad based and I believe it's available on their website
They had a fair bit to say on ball suitability and dismissed out of hand any relationship to ball speed or handicap. They work back from the green through chipping and back to the tee, based on the fact you hit the driver 14 times a round (hopefully!). They also used the line a few times about how the ball is the only piece of equipment that you use on every shot, and that the same thought should go in to it as any other bit of kit...
Insurprisingly the vast majority of their fittings come out with Pro-V1 & Pro-V1X, I believe I was the only one on the day to come out with something else, the NXT Tour S, which they are kindly sending me a box of (in addition to the Pro-Vs I got on the day!)

when I got fiitted for my clubs at AG the bloke told me I would need a premium ball like pro v1, z star and that coz I had a fast swing. My answer to that was I play off 24 there is no way I'm playing with them the amount I loose. Ad333 for me I like there all round playability

One of my problems when I was playing off high 20's was hitting the ball high enough for it to stop on greens. I found playing softer balls, pro v1, penta TP5 etc, helped with this. Distance balls didn't help me.

Distance balls also feel horrible off the face, especially off the putter. I played with Pro V's for a bit, but due to the cost (even of lake ball Pro V's) I've switched to the AD333. Reasonably priced, feels great off the putter, and get a decent amount of spin around the greens.

Titleist completely poo-poo the 'swing speed' myth, with very good facts behind it. It is all about short game and putting though. What feels the best (and this is completely subjective). I'm a bit of a ball whore at the moment, and keep jumping from one to another. I haven't yet managed to find anything that inspires as much confidence as a Pro-V1/x though, so will probably just revert back to using them eventually. I just don't like the price!

Yes, I've done the Titleist one on the Ipad, at a belfry Open Day.
Like most people there it recommends either of the Pro V1's.

A ball-fitting - hmmm - think not for me. Round will do for a start then not too hard. Too many other bits of the golf swing not quite right for me to concern myself with fitting the ball to me (or vice-versa).

I think all Titleist ball fittings recommend the Pro v1 or V1x and then a cheaper alternative. If I recall, Titleist are of the opinion that one of those 2 is best for everyone's game and that you only need to look at other options based on price.

Of course, with your fast swing (if you really have one) might be able to take advantage of the attributes of a premium ball. But you certainly don't NEED one!
