Its my little boys birthday today, he's 4 today. From the age of about 9 months my son was showing a keen interest in golf. Meaning when ever golf was on the telly he would sit on the sofa next to me and watch golf for hours. He's never been bothered for watching cartoons. Only golf even the old stuff I had recorded. Even if I was playing tw on the playstation he would sit next to me for hours.

Being a keen golf fan myself I was over the moon with this (dreaming of my son being the next tw)
I bought him his first set of plastic golf clubs.

And was showing him some simple stuff stance/ grip & teaching him to swing the club.
( by this he was almost 2 years old) he was picking up what I was teaching him really quick. & again I was the proudest dad in the world.

By the time Jayden (my little boy) reached is 3 rd birthday we started to notice he was becoming
Vacant ( in his own little world) he lost his speech and started to regress. To cut a long story short
After long tests and many assessments Jayden was diagnosed with autism,

As you can imagine this was a big blow to all our family.

I still believe he's going to be a golfer one day, just wish I could take him ont on the course with me
Or even the driving range,

Happy birthday son I love you ( daddy's little tiger woods) xxx

That's tough to read. My oldest boy will be four next week and can't imagine him not being the boy he is just now.
Ernie Els does lots of charity work for autism and I think he bases himself in the UK to be close to a centre where his son goes who's also autistic.

Hope Jayden enjoys his birthday and you can someday take him to the golf with you.

Having a 4 year old and 2 year old son myself, it really touched me reading that.

Happy birthday Jayden, i hope i remember this post when i'm watching him create history by turning pro.

As a father and grandfather I can only guess at the impact your son's autism has had on the family. Wish you and Jayden all the best for the future and I'm sure he will still make you a proud dad.

Not sure how to respond to this apart from saying I hope he has a great birthday and wish him all the best for the future.

You will know that everyone on here is rooting for Jayden. A story like that makes us realise how lucky we all are and to be fair you're lucky to have a boy that you love so much - he is in safe hands!

Read this expecting a request for what clubs to get and I was ready with loads as my wee boy is 5, but reading the next part brought a tear to my eye, the wee soul.

The biggest most positive thing I can take from this is Jayden has a wonderful loving daddy, happy birthday Jayden.

Happy Birthday Jayden. Beautifully written post, and very emotive. Good luck for the future and I hope he gets onto the course sometime soon..

Hey Blackgold

My little boy Aidan also has Autism, he will be 4 in September. It really took us by surprise and has been a long road to get where we are, but hopefully now that it is recognised he will start to get the help he needs. As stated earlier, Ernie Els does great work for Autism via golf over in the states and if he ever starts anything in the uk then I will certainly get involved.

Happy Birthday Jayden

He is a happy wee boy Black gold, still in mainstream nursery at the minute but we have managed to get him a place in a special needs nursery starting in August, wish it was sooner but was the best they could offer. Have been looking into the pecs etc and hopefully he will pick it up quickly, he is excellent on the iPad, loves it
Just glad he will get the help he deserves now.

The I pad is a great investment Jayden has one too although his interest seems to have dropped off from it, it's a good tool for apps such as tap to talk. I'm glad you guys have managed to get aiden
in a special needs nursery. He should get a lot of one2one, pecs is really good, we have found its
Worked really well with Jayden.

Tough read but hope the little un had a good day. I know next to nothing about autism but hope you can find a way to re-channel his love for golf and that eventually you and him can find a way to hit the range or play a few holes together
