I see you have the little cake to signify your birthday so many happy returns. I am playing Clandeboye next week in their open week, what's it like, I have heard plenty of good reports, any tips?

Depends which course. If its the ava, dont bother using the driver on most holes. If its the more difficult longer Dufferin, long irons and woods off the shorter par 4's (including the first) as the ball is bouncing rightly.
I played there just over a week ago and drove 10 yards short of the green, chipped on and it took one hard bounce, no spin whatsoever was going to stop it running through into the bunker. Did get a nearest the pin at the water hole though, 3 feet. Bottle of Brandy my way!
Keep the ball on the fairway, regardless of distance and you will do well, find the trees and well....your dead in the water.
