Been to a local "golf outlet" and spent my Chrimbo vouchers!

Plumped for a new pair of waterproof trousers as my current pair were cheapos that left you with moist regions following a round due to their non breathability.

I wasn't in the market for Galvin Green gear, just don't have the money or requirement for it.
Opted for a pair of Sunderland waterproof/windproof & breathable trousers, nice and quiet and feel the business. Spot on for £60.
Also got a FREE JL pitchfork thrown in as well!

Happy chappy!

Troosers!!!

Done exactly the same here. Spent my AG vouchers on a Ping Tour S 60 deg wedge so I've now got a full complement of axes. Also picked up a pair of Stuburt golf shoes for £19.99. Bargain.

Hissing with rain down here so back home for some more carpet putting. Should be able to get on the course tomorrow and see if I can remember how to play.

Mine were gone by Boxing day! Swapped the JPX SW I got from the Mrs. for an MP T-11 52 degree and spent my vouchers on a 56 degree to match.

Marvellous! :D

hope they as good as my sunderlands, 4 years old, plenty of wear, never failed me !

Yup. Dare I say it...Sunderlands are better than Galvin Green!
Go into your AG they're selling a full suit for 150 quid.
It's got the same goretex-like lining.
Compare it to the GG one, go on give it a rustle...yeah it's a lot quieter and softer than the GG stuff.
And as the above to posters can attest, great at being waterproof.

The message of this post is: GG is great but waaaaay overpriced and Sunderland can meet/beat them.

Me too Basher. Went out with the money HID gave for my new cart bag, I went with every intention of buying the Titleist reverse bag and when I saw it I wasn't so impressed. I ended up with the Powercaddy vinyl bag that looks as good as a tour bag imo. I did a deal for £100 and on a quick search can only find one or two online sites that are about £5 cheaper - good result I think!

Well done Chris - result!

You sound just like me. As soon as I came home I was straight online looking to see if the item was available cheaper. Same price all over...... thank God!

Mine were not in a sale, so I paid the normal price unfortunately.

The guy in the shop wanted £110 but I said that I would do a deal at £100 and we were both happy. It showed that buying online is not always the best way. I had intended to get the Titleist bag and when I saw it the deviders were not all seperate or full length, I moved to the one that was best in the shop and came away really happy. I just hope that my Hillbilly trolley is man enough for a Powercaddy bag!

Two happy shoppers Basher - well done mate!

Glad you got what you wanted at a decent price too. I'm avoiding all online golf stores and visiting any retailers as I'm sure I'd end up buying for the sake of it.

Lots of rain today and I stayed up late to watch the cricket so no golf or practicing (and I was off to see my mum too). However I'm tempted to go the the practice ground tomorrow and work on my game after such a long break. Not looking for anything special but just trying to find some timing and get it going forward. We've still got a bit of snow on some of our holes which are shaded so not sure if the course will be fully open (if at all) but hoping it will be by the weekend.

Cheers Homer

Firstly, let me wish for your mothers health to improve.

It looks like we have a game booked for Friday at a course near Maidstone, it means that I can try my new bats out on grass!! All being well I have a winter league pairs match on Sunday at home course - lets hope, like you, that the last bit of snow is gone by then.

Keep cheerful HJS

I tried out a Callaway FT9 Tour about a year ago and loved it, BUT just couldn't justify £350 for a club. Well one AG sale and some Chrimbo cash later and there's one in the bag. I even managed to get an iMix head and shaft, so real bargain at £129.

I tried it with 2 different shafts in 3 different AG stores (One only had a launch monitor) and hit it better than I remember. 5 handicap here we come .

Good club Shark. I bought one early summer and loved it. I got it with the Fubuki shaft for £150 and I was told that the shaft was worth all of that.

Lets keep fingers crossed for a downward h/cap revision

Where abouts are you playing. I was looking to book something with a few friends, but not getting much luck?

One of my pals booked Cobtree for an 8 ball on Friday - I havn't played there before but at least it's a game

I was at the Rainham golf shop yesterday and they said Weald of Kent was open as well although by Friday I think most will be

Good luck
