Major Champion
Player X has a handicap of 5 on a really tight, tough, punishing and long course.
He goes and plays in an open competition on another course that is short, wide open, forgiving, flat and easy.
In theory Player X is likely to rip the course apart.
How is this allowed/ monitored????
Maybe in theory, but the 5 h/cap player will invariably get stuffed by an 18 handicapper playing to 6 h/cap. In my experience the low handicap guys do best on a tough course when it's playing long and difficult as they make less mistakes
