Handicap increase question

Hi ladies and gents
Maybe its because its friday and i'm getting excited about playing at the weekend but i'm confused.

Medal last Saturday
Course Standard Scratch 70
My handicap 11.6
My gross score 87 (doh!) but that included a 9 on a par 4 (stroke index 1)

I have just checked and have gone up to 11.7. I assumed (maybe incorrectly?) that the 9 would become a 6 making my gross score 84 putting me on on my buffer zone of 2 shots and so no increase.

Is the increase correct?

It may depend if "Competition Standard Scratch" changed If it hasnt, then I would quiery it as you sound in buffer to me

But then again, what do I know

it would be adjusted to a net double bogey, so as you received a shot on the hole would be adjusted to a 7. This would give you a total 85 meaning a net 73 and just outside the buffer with CSS of 70
