So played in my first 2017 comp on Bank Holiday Monday and finally got round to checking the results last night. DISQUALIFIED for signing wrong score!

What's making it worse is that I scored 35 points and would have certainly been in the Top Three, possibly even winning on countback!

Lesson well and truly learnt!

But strangely, it has given me a huge boost of confidence in my game - the way it is developing, my mental approach etc. So not all bad!

Ouch, but if you have taken something away from it, good!
 
Had you signed a score lower than you had? or higher than what you had?
Because if you sign for a score of 34 the score its stands - if you signed for a 36 then you are disqualified.
Same as on individual holes. Rule6-6
However if there are disqualifying you for putting 2 points instead of 1 - that may be a cause for appeal - as long as your gross/actual score is correct. As it is the committees responsibility to add the points to each hole. You just record your score for the hole.

As previously stated, you only sign for the gross score.

That said, 35 points for a win? Wow. 42 gets you no where at my place.
 
No idea Val, didn't ask. not that fussed to be truthful and I'm not going to argue about it - just a friendly competition with no negative knock on effect. No money or trophy, end of season standing lost. Just going to learn from it and take confidence in my game. I still made loads of errors and left shots out there. Actually shot over my handicap! So it wasn't as if I had the game of my life. But I'll learn from it, laugh at it and pay more attention to my card next time!
