Gutted!!

Lost our club matchplay final today on the last hole to a birdie. Nothing spectacular front nine and we were one down.
Then we lost threes on the trot to go 4 down with 6 to play.

We then won 4 out of the next 5 to stand all square on the 18th.
All 4 of us on the green and they went and sunk one of their 20 foot putts.

I'm absolutely gutted as we had no luck at all and they had all of it. They were hitting out of bounds and then rebounding back into the middle of the fairway off trees, sneaking in through the side door on holes and putts dropping after 4-5 secs......never seen anything like it.

We on the other hand had putts lip out that were tracking the middle of the cup, balls landing on down slopes at the green and shooting through the back. Usually luck goes both ways but today was so one sided.

Really nice couple of guys that won it and to be fair we lost it rather than them win it and can't complain losing to a birdie, but I've got a face like a smacked arse!!!!!!!!!........ I hate losing

Sorry to hear that. Great fight back and always unlucky to lose in that manner. Hawkeye and I played tow guys from Mill Ride in the Volvo this year and it went to the 19th. One of them holes a 40 footer across the green. Hit the flag and dropped or it was at least 10 feet by. Only time they led all day !
