Greenkeepers Reports

Information in clubs is key Alan it keeps the 600 greenskeeper members in the no, so they can see the changes and the reasons for doing it, he's a very approachable lad who if you ask a question or have a suggestion will try and sort it out for you.

Absolutely, just been reading the green keepers blog for Machrihanish dunes as well, also informative and well written.
Even Glasgow Gailes have an almost daily update which includes green keeping work being done, current course condition and how many visitors they have had that day !!

This has to be the way forward, great to see a Club embracing technology and putting information out there.

He only started last year and has made some great changes to a course that was already a good course but a bit untidy in places.
Good to hear the condition of your course has improved Steve, as I seem to remember you got a bit disenchanted with it a few years back.

Cheers Rich, the rough was so long it was nigh on unplayable as parts of the course are tight, but a great change around has made the course what it should be, tough but a fair test of golf

We get them on a monthly basis + they also hold regular meetings for further in depth information and explanations on what they are doing - they have had a difficult couple of years though - reshaped half the holes on one course during last winter + they are trying to change the greens grass also

My club is very much a business rather than a members club, it runs on a credits scheme with lots of hospitality also with very good revenue streams so I think the courses suffer a little from overuse, the green keepers are trying to manage this constantly
