Greatest athletes who never won the 'big one'?

List just seems a bit random to me why Norman he should have have won more yes there are other golfers who have missed chances and never won any

Is Paula Radcliffe not winning the London Marathon the biggest sporting miss ever, I dont think so and I am sure if you did a survey not many would pick it if any

Just seems a bit strange

The list is supposed to be random and include as many sports as possible. I agree that there are many other golfers who never won much but I can only include one golfer so I chose Norman.

If you actually read the post, Paula Radcliffe is in the list for not winning an Olympic Gold Medal. She won the London Marathon several times as well the New York marathon and has most of the fastest times ever set. The list is the greatest athletes not to win. Radcliffe wouldn't be most people's choice but when you look at those stats I think she has to me number 1.

Sorry yes olympic gold but that makes it less of a miss in my opinion as its every 4 years so you naturally have less chances

Just feels a bit to random to me but then I wouldn't worry about what I think

Yeah that's a fair point. It's a similar situation with Johan Cruyff and the World Cup. I did try to make it a bit obscure so it might spark some debate, so thanks :P

Its difficult to put players from team events in this type of lists. For them to win they need the support of their team mates.

Sonia O'Sullivan should be on the athletics list. Won world titles and european titles but no olympic gold only olympic silver.

Norman won majors so Monty and Garcia should be top of the golfers list.

Frank Nobilo - followed him on the european tour for a number of years - a bit random i know but was a great player to watch.

Also go with Jimmy White how many times was he a bridesmaid?

GBC

I can see why you went for Norman as he was so dominant at one stage and should have won American majors but I would still go with Monty for not winning any. I like the list though and agree with Paula Radcliffe being up there. Not sure on the Brazil team as it was only one tournament I maybe would have just put in Holland instead and mentioned Cruyff amongst others like Van Basten/Bergkamp etc.

Good list though Marino & Jimmy White were the two that sprang to mind before I read it.
