Gps watch

Ive got the Garmin S2 ,had it about 3 weeks now it is spot on , usual settings front ,middle and back, plus you can keep your score and use the odometer setting. The odometer setting has me walking 5. 3- 5.5 miles per round whichis handy to no. Picked mine up from Thurgo they were the cheapest.

But taking 6 hours to get round
LOL my thoughts exactly! Have seen some terrible examples of this at our place recently.
Absolute tosh! I will galnce at my skycaddie which is displaying everything I need as I am walking towards my ball, no buttons to press, and if Im waiting for my PP to take a shot and Im less than 10yds from my ball, Ill use my laser then and allow for that distance, but even if I laser when I get to my ball, its much less time than I see some people taking multilke practice swings and flaffing about before a shot! I completed my stableford comp in 3.5hrs on a very busy Saturday using both devices, so your opinions that it will natuarraly take longer to play holds no water IMO! The game is slow currently because people are never ready to play when its their turn and dont operate a ready golf scenario when on the tee, all this guff about your honour is stupid IMO, unless its matchplay, waiting for someone flaffing about in their bag to drive 1st when veryone else is ready is poor mamangement of their game/round and time!

Robin. Was referring to examples of some complete idiots at my club messing around with various measuring devices for an age.

Seems you might have thought my post was aimed at you, but it wasn't.

Am sure you shoot very quickly

Catch up soon pal.

I have an S1 which is fine for front -middle-back info and it woks for me. I really quite like its simplicity.

But a word of warning. Unbelievably if the strap breaks (and believe me it does eventually) the crummy design does not allow it to be replaced. Instead Garmin try and get you to upgrade or pay 60 quid for a refurbished S1.

May not be such an issue now as I'm talking about 18 months ago and I don't think they make an S1 any more.

But I really had to kick off big time when my S1 strap broke and they didn't have a simple new strap fix they could offer as the strap and watch are an all in one design..

In the end they gave me a refurbed S1 for £6 p&p to shut me up.

However two of my PPs are now using S1s held together with gaffer tape. Garmin refuse to do for them what they did for me.
