Gps watch

Have the S1. Great for me as I only want the basic yardages. Good battery life and great for when you play different courses or get out of position on your normal course.

Hi thanks what's the size and strap like seen that the strap ain't the best I am also getting hooked on the cost creep so for a extra 40 u can get the 2 or a extra 60 the 3

American golf had the S1 for £79 at the weekend. I've got the s3 and find the extra features helpful but not essential.

I've got Garmin Vivoactive, it gives you front middle and back of the green, and is useful if you do any other sports such as swimming and running.

Just a word of warning about the S1 (don't know if the S2 and S3 are the same). Battery life is crap. If you are only playing 18 holes then fine, but if you are playing 36 forget it, unless you have somewhere to charge it between rounds.
I had one and got rid of it for this reason. Display was good, easy enough to read. But as I say, absolutely no good at all if you are playing 36.
I now have a Bushnell Neo XS. Much better battery life, can easily last 36 holes (and more if necessary).
Display isn't as clear as the Garmin, (my fault as I bought the wrong colour!), but I can live with it. Plus it gives me yardages for up to four hazards on every hole.

I have the S3 and it is fine if you just want the distance to front, middle and back. You can add various hazards yourself if you play a course regularly and it also measures shots, scorecard and distance to 100, 150 and 200 yd lay ups to save you some maths.
but as mentioned, battery life isn't great. Even if I don't turn it on til I am halfway down the first, it will only last to about the 15/16 on the second round after a lunch on a society day out. That said, if you want the basics and only do 18 normally, it is good value

As long as you pay the annual subscription......
:smirk:

No subscription for the sports watch as its the basic front, middle & back but gives you the guarantee that greens are where there supposed to be! Also, no subscription for the Linx although you can, by choice, upgrade it for extra features.

Keep up :smirk:

So says the player who uses a Bushnell v3 ! :smirk:

Yes I have a laser for extra detail, used in conjunction with my SkyCaddie its excellent, my SkyCaddie tells me the back of the green yardage and my laser will tell me what the exact yardage is to the flag, I then know I've only got 2yds at the back of the flag, the partnership works really well on very large greens thank you and I'm hitting more greens in regulation recently with a greater degree of confidence than I was before :ears:

But taking 6 hours to get round
