Played at my old club today as my membership runs until the end of the month. Picked up my subs invoice whilst I was there out of interest more than anything else. In there was a letter extolling the virtues of membership and on the top of the list was that all members had full playing rights on the course, 7 days a week. That to me suggests that the club have done away with the option of 5 day membership and everyone pays the same irrespective of whether they want to play at weekends. Not sure how well this has gone down with some fairly large groups of members.

Has this happened at anyone elses club? How was it taken by the members.

Would of thought a moved like that would of been mentioned before hand?
In current climate you would think clubs are trying to keep hold and attract new members not alieniate.

Might be worth checking with the office in case there are any silly rules or T&C's that mean those on 5 day can only play at certain times even though the meaning would appear to be un-ambiguous. You know how clubs like to make life as hard as possible for their members

This is my old club that I am leaving not my new one so does not really affect me just interesting that they have gone down this route. No restrictions or T&Cs just no 5 day members. I can only guess that they worked out that they would make more out of the additional fees paid by the 5 day members who moved to 7 day than those that left.

They also finally put in the letter an explanation of the courses that we had reciprocal agreements with. I was there for 4 years and was never told about any of them (in fact Viscount17 found out about our reciprocal with Abbotsley before I did).

Seems pretty unambiguous to me! Anything else would be against Sale of Goods Act - or Service equivalent. Painkillers a bit strong?
