Well, with tales of mixed woe over the last few days (Smiffy\TheCraw and Parmo\Imurg\CVG) I thought I'd post up about my round on Saturday.

Shot a 88, with 43 points, which is only the second time I have ever broken 90. My golf really seems to be coming together lately after a really bad patch of about a year (which seemed to coincide with the birth of my daughter!! :) ), as the first time I broke 90 was before she was born!! :).

Stuck my scores into my iPhone app, Golfshot GPS, and I hit 9 out of 14 fairways which really helps with my scoring, but only hit 4 GIR, which is obviously an area of my game I need to work on, and 36 putts, so not setting the world on fire there but not bad (3 putted 3 times).

As I said, I just need to go away now and work on my shots into the greens, see if I can't get that percentage up for GIR....then I'll be shooting socres like Parmo!!! :D

Sounds good. Nice to hear of people playing well.

I had an 80 in the last medal of the year on Saturday. Not expecting much, as I have been playing rubbish recently, and so for once went into the round with zero expectations.

Started bogey, double, but then steadied the ship, and finished the first 9 6 over par 40. Doubled the 10th, and bogeyed 12, but then parred round to 18. Stood about on the 18th waiting to drive, forgot any sort of focus and pushed it well right. Thought I had lost it, but found it eventually. Hacked out accross the fairway, thought I'd lost that too, but no, hit a lay up 7i over some trees which we also couldn't find, til I looked 20 yards further than I normally hit, and there it was in a green side bunker. Canned the bunker shot for a birdie 4. Golf, stupid game.

So depending on SSS I could be cut 0.6 or 0.4. At least it moves me away from 11.3 and the dreaded shot back.

Its good to hear so many people scoring well. I think from the stats its clear that you could do with some putting practice (or lesson) and maybe work on your short irons from 120 yards or so to hit more greens. Take the positives though and enjoy the feeling

Just heard I am off 10.7 as SS was 72. Now need to play well in the last stableford of the year on Nov 7 and get down to 10 for the winter. How hard can it be?
